IP Addresses – Modbus TCP/IP

Critical – Modbus TCP/IP only

All devices cabled via Cat6 to the internal switch in FlexControl. IP addresses set per the table below. Protocol must be Modbus TCP/IP – not Modbus RTU.

SiteID – part of the IP address is site-specific.

Replace [SiteID] with the correct value for the site. Assigned by TGN Energy – contact support@tgnenergy.com at commissioning.

Installation Steps

  1. 1
    Mount the FlexControl cabinet

Place the cabinet in the switchroom. Connect 230V supply and verify 24V DC internal voltage.

  2. 2
    Connect to the internet

Connect the internet cable to port X1P1 on the NXT Step CyberBox. Required for remote monitoring and updates.

  3. 3
    Install grid analysers

Mount Carlo Gavazzi EM24 (grid input and PV) and Acuvim II (BESS). Connect 5A current transformers where required.

  4. 4
    Cable all devices with Cat6

Run Cat6 cable from each grid analyser, BESS unit and PV inverter to the Modbus TCP/IP switch in the FC cabinet.

  5. 5
Set IP addresses per table (section 3)

Configure IP addresses on all devices. Always use Modbus TCP/IP. Verify that all devices respond on their assigned address.

  6. 6
Commissioning – performed by licensed electrician

All components are configured and started by an authorised electrician. Log all Modbus addresses and verify communication against the FC system.
